Aart van ‘t Land has served in various functions within the Lely Group, but mainly as Vice President Dairy Equipment and, since 2011, as Director Business Development. Lely is active in dairy farm automation and is particularly renowned for its Astronaut milking robot. Involvement in the development of the strategy of the digitization of agriculture (precision farming) has been integral part of the tasks.
During his career, Aart has gained substantial experience in (agricultural) commerce and strategy, most specifically in the dairy industry. Drawing on this experience, Aart is active as a mentor/coach for start-ups from the Technion BizTEC Student Accelerator scheme as well as serving as a sounding board for several Israeli start-ups. He is also a member of the advisory board of Greensoil Investments. Aart operates out of Israel.
Prior to joining Lely in 1997, Aart spent ten years as Director Seed Potatoes at Meijer in Kruiningen, the Netherlands. All the positions throughout his working life have given him unique opportunities to travel and learn about all aspects of agricultural life around the world, from emerging markets in the very early stages to the most developed and sophisticated segments of the industry.
