Giovana joined The Nature Conservancy in Brazil in 2008, she is the leader of the Sustainable Agriculture strategy where she is responsible for the team involved into projects and initiatives for sustainability on agricultural lands all over Brazil. She also is the representative of TNC in several forums and roundtables that discuss environmental issues with agricultural commodities leaders, private companies and other NGOs (like RTRS – Roundtable on Responsible Soy; FSC Brazil – Forest Stewardship Council, GTPS – Sustainable Beef Technical Group; GTS – Soy Moratorium Group, Brazilian Forest Dialogue; Brazilian Technical Group of Food and Agriculture Business Principles – FABP Global Compact, SAI Platform,….). Those initiatives are being carried out in partnership with public and private sectors.As Forest Engineer has almost 20 years of work experience on conservation projects, landscape planning and also environmental /social management in forestry/agricultural lands. She holds a Master degree in environmental management from EAEME – European Association for Environmental Management Education/ Kapodistrian University of Athens – Greece and a specialist degree on River Basins Management issued by Università Degli Studi di Parma – Italy. She is currently member of the SAI Platform Advisory Council.
